The ShackLan Firmware Uploader software is a free utility to allow the firmware in all ShackLan products to be easily field updated. It is a standalone application that requires no DLL files or installation. It may be run directly from the location where you saved the file. Before you begin you should change the Latency Timer setting for the USB COM port. This will greatly shorten the firmware uploading procedure. Most ShackLan devices have a small hole in the front panel. The pushbutton to start the uploading process is located behind the hole. Be sure to have a paper clip, toothpick or short piece of wire on hand before you start the uploading process.
The following procedure is used to update the firmware:
1 - Start the Uploaded software utility.
2 - Connect a USB cable to the device to be updated. A new COM port
should be added to the Available Ports list.
3 - Select the newly added COM port.
4 - Click on the Load button and select the .hex file to upload into the
unit.
6 - Click on the Start button in the application.
7 - Press and release the programming pushbutton switch on the unit to
be updated to start the uploaded process.
(Programming button is located behind small hole in front panel of most
Shacklan products)
